Handy Guide to Skin Care During Summer: Follow The Tips And Your Skin Will Thank You For It

There's nothing we can do about the ruthlessness of the sun during summers, but we can definitely do something for our skin that has to bear the scorching heat. Our clothes change and so does our likes of food and beverages during summer, but we often forget to make the necessary changes in our skincare routine. We have put together a handy skincare guide that's easy to follow.

The harsh Indian summer is not the best for our skin. In fact, too much exposure to the sun can hurt our skin in several ways. That includes tanning, though some of us may like that, and premature aging that is definitely unwanted, in all likelihood. Sunburns and uneven skin tones are other issues that come with overexposure to the sun rays. So, let's explore the tips that will help you take care of your skin and enjoy the brighter side of the summer months.

Facewash

We are all familiar with dust winds, oily skin, pimples, or acne. Yes. It's not very pleasing. So, remember to splash your face with clean water. Just clean water and nothing else. That's correct, you don't need face wash. Using just water several times during the day will save the day for you. This will help you get rid of the excess oil and dirt while still maintaining the essential oil required by your skin. If you have to, you may use mild alcohol-free cleansers and face wash also but don't overdo their usage.

Exfoliation

While you do facewash, you must exfoliate your skin. Exfoliation is required just twice or thrice a week to get rid of the dead cells that collect on your skin as your body removes them continuously. You can use any face scrub that suits your skin and let your face glow again.

Minimal Makeup

Makeup should be kept to a minimum during these months, as the layers of makeup clog the skin and also add to the heat trapped near your skin, making you uncomfortable. It also affects your skin's health. Sweating tends to spoil makeup so consider a light foundation or moisturizer. Don't avoid moisturizing your skin even if you have oily skin. Cleanse your skin and moisturize.

Sunscreen

Make sure you never leave your house without sunscreen.  Skincare experts recommend that sunscreen with at least 30 SPF must be applied to prevent premature aging, sunburn, and even skin cancer. The UV rays are known for the skin damage they can cause, so always apply sunscreen after makeup. Don't forget to apply it on your ears, lips and feet - some of the areas that are usually missed out. Carry the sunscreen with you so you can reapply every few hours.

Vitamin C Serum

Summers are not the only times when Vitamin C is required for your skin but it's very important during summers. Excessive exposure to the sun may lead to hyperpigmentation but Vitamin C can help you prevent that. It also plays a role in reducing the fine lines and collagen production.

Shade

That's a no-brainer but sometimes we ignore the basics. Never step out with an umbrella or at least a hat and sunglasses. If you're going to be outdoors a lot, try to wear clothes that minimize the exposure of your skin.

Night Routine

End the day with a proper night cream or oil. This is when your skin gets rest and is totally away from heat and dust. Get something that suits your skin and let your skin cells splenish while you sleep.

Follow these simple tips and protect your skin while you make the most of the season.
